The Melbourne Cement Facility is a state-of-the-art complex dedicated to producing and facilitating the transport of cement products to meet the growing demands of Victoria/ Australia’s building and construction industry for years to come. As part of its expansion, in 2024, Total Insulation was selected by Transplumb Group to install insulation and cladding on the weather-exposed cement slides of the third and largest silo cell.
Given the significance of this project, careful planning and collaboration with Transplumb and Cement Australia were crucial to its success. For example, due to the unique shape of the silo slides, we ustilised laser cutting to achieve a precise, custom fit. Additionally, the sheet metal panels required cross-breaking folds to ensure structural stability and prevent damage on install.
Despite the complexity of the project and tight deadlines, effective planning, teamwork and a commitment to excellence from our highly skilled installers resulted in a successful outcome. We are grateful to Transplumb Group and Cement Australia for the opportunity to contribute to this distinctive and rewarding project, and we look forward to taking on similar challenges in the future.
